Using the Multi color edit window you can edit the colors from the current color set at once:
In the top of the window you can select the channel (color component) you want to edit. They correspond to the 6 scrollbars from the standard color editor. (See Color edit window)
In the center area you will see the graph/chart with the channel values. Simply clicking on a new position will change the respective color's selected channel value.
Below the graph/chart you can see the current colors, so you can see immediately the effect. If not all the colors fit on the screen at once, you can use the scrollbar at the bottom to see the rest of the colors.
The multi color edit window is very usefull to edit color gradients. You can quickly create a color gradient with only a few clicks, or adjust a gradient. For example if you find the gradient too dull, it might be because it uses only the same color, ie the hue component is same. To fix this just select the hue component at the top of the window and by drawing in the graph make it a bit curved:
