Tools/Select
Selects an area of the image to move it. It's the same as a combination of cut and paste.
Tools/Select with copy
Selects an area of the image to copy it. It's the same as a combination of copy and paste.
Tools/Pen
Draws continuous pixels.
Tools/Outliner
Changes the color of the current pixel to either the current color or the last used color. If the selected pixel has a color different then the current color, it will be set to the current color. Otherwise it will be set to the last used color.
It is used to draw outlines. First select the background color you want for your sprite. Then select the line color. Now simply draw the lines. To remove a pixel, just click on it. To draw a new pixel also just click on it.
Tools/Eraser
Erases pixels (replaces them with the first color in the palette)
Tools/Rect
Draws a filled or non filled rectangle (depending on the filled flag which can be set in the settings menu).
Tools/Line
Draws a line.
Tools/Ellipse
(not yet implemented) Draws a filled or non filled ellipse/circle (depending on the filled flag which can be set in the settings menu).
Tools/Fill
Fills the selected region with the current color. Just click once on the image, and the whole continuous area of the same color will be filled with the current color.
Tools/Fill to
Fills a region with the current color by specifying the color which surrounds the region.
First click to select the edge color, then click inside the region.
Tools/Edge
Similar to Fill, but only the edge of the region will be filled.
Tools/Hollow
Similar to Fill, but only the inside of the region will be filled. It can be used to make an outline from a region.
Tools/Crop
Crops the image (all layers) to the selected rectangle.
Tools/Sep
Replaces all occurencies of some colors with the current color. This tool has the following modes (you can set them in Tools/Properties):
- Selected - Replace the color on which you clicked
- Not selected - Replace every other color but the one on which you clicked
- Color set - Replace the colors from the color set
- Not color set - Replace every color but not the ones from the color set
Tools/Pan
Move the view (ie. scroll the image)
Tools/Pick
Pick a color (ie. make the color of the selected pixel the current)
Tools/Properties...
Shows the tool's properties (if any). Some tools have addition option (like Sep), you can set those options here. See Tools/inks properties window.
